About Us

Joseph Grady Adams was born April 20, 1925, in New Iberia, Louisiana. He attended grade school in Louisiana and while in the eighth grade, he had to end his time in school to begin working to assist his family financially. Joseph came from a large family where he was one of 14 children.

In his early 20s, Joseph came to California where he met his wife and had four children (3 daughters and 1 son). In 1984, Joseph suffered loss when his son died and then 8 years later, he lost his wife. However, Joseph lived on and was surrounded by his three daughters, seven grandchildren and lived to see his seven great grandchildren. Although Joseph did not have much of an education, he had a successful career for 35-40 years.

Joseph had a heart for providing for his family and ensuring they were well cared for, and not just his immediate family, his extended family as well without judgement. He opened his door to those in need for many years and ensured his family always had a place to live. If there was a couch, a recliner, or the floor, there was always room to sleep. If you were hungry, he would let others come in and eat or provide the money for the food.

On October 26, 2021, Joseph passed away peacefully at home at the age of 96. He was such a kind, loving, and giving soul and his heart will continue to live on through this organization.
